Artist Bio

Raised in a remote mountain valley where the Sierra Nevada Range meets the Cascade Range, I grew up deeply connected to the natural world—far from cities and immersed in vast landscapes. That early relationship with place continues to shape my creative practice. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Humboldt County, years of moving eventually led me back home to Northern California. Here, the green pastures, multi-species forests, dramatic coastal cliffs, and abundant wildlife provide endless inspiration for my work.

I began exploring mixed media during the COVID-19 lockdown and quickly discovered a profound connection to image-making on paper. Creating late into the evening, I found myself drawn to women’s forms and faces—figures that seemed to look back at me as I worked to tell their stories. The process became both mindful and healing, with each figure representing a part of myself as I navigated recovery from severe CPTSD, a diagnosis I had received several years earlier.

Through experimentation, I found my primary medium in alcohol inks—an expressive, unpredictable material that feels nothing short of magical. The inks flow, fracture, and transform, resisting full control and demanding collaboration rather than dominance. Entering each piece with intention but allowing the medium to guide the outcome has taught me to release rigid ideas of perfection and embrace authenticity. Whether abstract, floral, or landscape-inspired, my work emerges free, loose, vibrant, and wild—celebrating resilience, joy, and an unencumbered way of being.
