Moses Victor
Artist Bio - Moses Victor
Moses Victor is a Nassau, Bahamas–based visual artist, born and raised in the vibrant cultural landscape of the islands. His artistic journey began at home, inspired by his older brother’s realism-driven graphite and colored pencil drawings. The precision, depth, and storytelling within those early works sparked Moses’ fascination with detail and form, making art feel less like a hobby and more like a living exhibition within his household.
Although Moses stepped away from art for several years, his passion for the craft never faded. During the global pandemic, a pivotal turning point emerged when he was unexpectedly terminated from his job. Leaning into his natural talent, Moses returned to art as both a creative outlet and a means of survival. He began by creating a portrait of his sister, a piece that ignited a renewed sense of purpose. Soon after, his portrait work gained rapid attention, leading to a surge in commissions and a growing audience—more than he had ever experienced before. This moment affirmed his belief that his gift was not meant to be abandoned.
As his practice evolved, Moses drew influence from artists such as Stuart Davis, Heinrich Kley, Dave Smith, Nina Chanel Abney, and Amy Sherald—each contributing to his expanding visual language and conceptual approach. A self-taught artist, Moses remains deeply committed to growth, experimentation, and refinement. He views art as a forward-moving discipline, one that continuously evolves through new techniques, ideas, and perspectives, and believes it should always be approached with intention and progression.
Moses Victor ultimately aspires to be recognized on a global scale. His goals include curating exhibitions, creating international installations, building an art collection, and supporting charitable organizations through his work. Equally important to him is being an active and uplifting member of the art community—one who champions both emerging and established artists and contributes meaningfully to the creative ecosystem.
