Artist Bio - Dr. Tricia Seymour-Barrier
Dr. Tricia Seymour-Barrier is a Texas-based abstract texture artist and transpersonal psychotherapist whose work explores the mystical, intuitive, and unseen dimensions of human experience. A lifelong creative, she was raised in an environment that encouraged exploration across art, music, dance, theatre, crafting, and baking—an early foundation that shaped her multidimensional approach to both life and artistic expression.
Although her professional career led her into entrepreneurship and psychotherapy, creativity remained a consistent and essential thread throughout her life. Now retired from clinical practice, Tricia devotes herself fully to her art, embracing the freedom to experiment, learn, and create without constraint.
A self-taught artist committed to continual growth, Tricia supplements her intuitive practice with ongoing classes and exploration. Her work weaves together color, texture, and movement to create contemplative spaces that invite reflection and inner dialogue. Each painting functions as both meditation and journey, encouraging viewers to slow down and engage with what lies beneath the surface.
Since 2023, Tricia has sold more than 100 original works and developed relationships with collectors who view art as an evolving experience rather than a static object. In 2025, her work was featured in over 30 exhibitions, with international showings scheduled for 2026 in the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Germany, Crete, and Monaco.
Guided by curiosity, connection, and a deep respect for mystery, Dr. Tricia Seymour-Barrier creates work that opens conversation and honors the complexity of human existence. She remains deeply grateful for each individual who chooses to engage with her art and join her ongoing creative journey.
Artist Statement
I am an American abstract mixed media artist exploring the threshold between the visible and the invisible—where color, texture, and spirit converge. Informed by my background in Transpersonal Spiritual Psychology, my work emerges through an intuitive dialogue with Source, allowing each painting to unfold as a meditative exploration of energy, perception, and inner awareness.
My process is guided by instinct and presence. Layers of pigment, texture, and gesture accumulate organically, transforming material into meaning. I work within a palette that moves from the contemplative depths of blues and purples to the expansive light of pinks, teals, and yellows—colors that evoke memory, emotion, and transformation. Through this interplay, I seek balance between spontaneous movement and intentional control.
Abstraction serves as my spiritual language. Vibration, light, and stillness become visual elements that invite reflection rather than explanation. Each work is created as a space for pause—an opportunity to sense, rather than analyze, what lies beneath the surface.
Ultimately, my paintings offer an invitation: to slow down, to feel, and to engage with the sacred dimensions that exist beyond the ordinary. Through this work, I aim to create quiet encounters that honor mystery, deepen connection, and open pathways to inner exploration.
